Your First Visit to SmileMore Dental

At SmileMore Dental, your initial visit is the foundation of our lasting partnership in oral health. During this important appointment, we’ll take the time to review your medical and dental history in detail. You’ll have the opportunity to meet your dentist and our friendly team, allowing you to comfortably discuss any concerns or goals for your dental health and treatment.

We prioritize creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, ensuring you never feel rushed during your first visit. We aim to make you feel at ease while laying the groundwork for exceptional care and a confident smile.

Step 1: Your Appointment

When you arrive at SmileMore Dental, our welcoming team will greet you and assist with check-in, verifying insurance details if applicable, and notifying your oral health team of your arrival. To streamline your visit, we recommend completing any new patient forms sent in your appointment confirmation email prior to your appointment.

Once you’re checked in, a friendly team member will escort you to a private treatment room. During this initial visit, the doctor will review your dental and medical history, address any concerns, and discuss your goals for your oral health. To further assess your teeth, gums, and jaw, we’ll take imaging and photos to create a comprehensive picture of your dental health.

Step 2: Your Exam

Your exam is a vital step in your journey to optimal oral health. Using advanced technology like digital imaging and intraoral cameras, the doctor will provide a detailed assessment of your teeth, gums, and overall oral health. This allows us to identify any concerns and craft a personalized treatment plan tailored to your unique needs.

During the exam, the doctor will also perform a comprehensive evaluation of your mouth, discuss your dental goals, and review recommendations to ensure your teeth, gums, and mouth remain healthy. By the end of this step, you’ll have a clear understanding of your oral health and the next steps in your care.

Step 3: Your Hygiene Visit

Following your exam, a separate hygiene visit will be scheduled based on the doctor’s recommendations. During this appointment, our skilled hygienist will perform a thorough cleaning tailored to your needs. This may include removing plaque and tartar buildup, polishing your teeth, and providing personalized oral hygiene tips to maintain your smile at home.

If necessary, the hygienist will also conduct an oral cancer screening and evaluate your gum health. This visit typically lasts about 45 minutes and is an essential part of ensuring long-term oral health and preventing future issues. At the end of your visit, you’ll leave with a fresh, clean smile and the tools you need to maintain it.
